The Excitement is Building

Countdown to the start of my cooking class:  5 Days

I’ve had a lot going on lately.   My business has picked up and I’ve been volunteering at the local food pantry on Saturdays.  We have been out, more than normal, with friends as one of them prepares for a major surgery.  And now, as I get closer to the start of my cooking class, the excitement is rising.

To get ready, I have been practicing with that super cool, (and super sharp…..Grrr), knife.  No more mishaps to report and, no, I won’t show anymore gruesome photos.  The first day of class is this Tuesday and I can tell the anticipation is building amongst my classmates.  Because it’s online, my classmates are from all over the world which will make for an interesting learning experience!

When you sign up for the class you are invited, and encouraged, to join a private Facebook account.  I have been checking out the recent posts, and they are plentiful.  Past graduates, recent graduates and new students have been contributing to the conversation.  It appears to be a great online forum to ask questions and get help with the project requirements.

There are students that are still finishing up the 3 month course and posting pictures of their recent creations.  Omgosh, (that’s code for O.M.G.), the food they are sharing photos of are gorgeous!  I can’t even imagine that I could make these dishes, much less present them so beautifully!

I’ve secured my spot in class and I am ready to get started but …….. a little nervous.

No backing out now………

I am a business owner, a mom of two grown daughters, a wife, and lover of life! I am an active 50+ -er with many new developing interests. Physical activity has always played a role in my life. Sometimes, more ........and sometimes, less. As a "Baby Boomer," it has become increasingly important for me to navigate the aging process with grace and agility. Part of the healthy living equation is, of course, the nutritional aspect as well. This blog, first and foremost, is devoted to women over the age of 50 looking to improve the quality of their life by exercising and consuming a healthy diet. Cheers to a life well lived! *You can read more about me by visiting my Home Page.
